As Founding Partner at 7percent Ventures, Andrew Gault has backed early-stage technology startups across Europe and the U.S., investing in transformative, deep-tech solutions. Notable exits include first money into Oculus VR which sold to Facebook and Magic Pony which sold to Twitter. He currently serves as a Board Member at PlotBox, a SaaS company for the death care industry. Alongside his round continuing role as General Partner, Andrew recently took a turnaround CEO role at 7percent portfolio company ZeroTier, a next-generation secure network overlay platform.
With 31 patents issued & 59 filed, Andrew started life at the European Space Agency, co-founding Gaikai in 2008. Raising $45m from Benchmark, Rustic Canyon, NEA and Intel, Gaikai was acquired by Sony for $380m, becoming PlayStation Now.
A Scotsman living on the West Coast since 2010, he has an extensive Silicon Valley network and has sat on numerous portfolio boards. When not investing or coding his interests include skiing and the quantified self. Mr Gault has strong views on how to make a coffee, preferably with a La Marzocco coffee machine.
